After working as a research chemist for 5 years I realized that I am a social creature and needed to get out of the lab and interact with people face to face. Due to a life long passion for organizing I realized my dream job was to become a Professional Organizer. (My mother thought I was going to become an office supply salesman). Personally, I find that there is nothing more rewarding then helping others live happier, healthier lives by organizing their homes and places of business.

Organizational Specialists Inc was started in 2004 and has worked with hundreds of clients, from organizing a trailer home to a Fortune 500 firm’s corporate office.

Kristin Long, as seen on HGTV’s Mission Organization, is owner and president of Organizational Specialists Inc located in Northern Virginia.

As one organizing “junkie” to another, I appreciate what you are doing and wish you all success in your endeavor (sounds like you are already having plenty of it). My motto in life has been “through organization comes peace of mind.”

In all my jobs, I quickly found that keeping organized was the key to success. Now that I am retired, I volunteer a lot. I volunteered at a Legal Aid office and reorganized and converted all the paper files to digital form for one of their departments (non-profit companies). The lead attorney was very good at working with the clients but totally disorganized. He thought I was the Messiah.

Its good to know that other people are as passionate about being organized and are willing to share that gift to those who don’t have the time, patience, or ability to help themselves have “peace of mind”. Thank you!
